Welcome to the final newsletter before the AGM information is sent out to you. I hope you have all enjoyed the season.

I would just like to say Thank You to all of you for the speed in which you have sent in your results this season. It has helped me to keep everything up to date as soon as possible.

If you know that there will be a change of Captain for next season, please let me know who it will be and their details asap as I will very shortly be starting preparation of next seasons fixture cards. No rest for the wicked ha ha.

Presentation night

This seasons Presentation night will take place on Saturday 8th June at Spencer Sports and Social Club 7pm for 7.30pm sit down.

Tickets for the 3 course meal will cost £16 with a Soup starter, Roast Beef main meal. The vegetarian options are Nut Roast or Cajun Roulade and a choice of puddings on the night followed by the Presentation and a Disco. We would like to see as many of you there as possible.

IMPORTANT: If you have any special requirements, please inform me when ordering your tickets.

Please contact Andy Bainton on 01225 351941 ASAP with the amount of tickets that you will require. The cut off date for ticket sales and payment is Saturday 25th May.

Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque or BACS. Please make Cheques payable to Miss P Rankin or a BACS payment to Sort code 071660 Account number 54941303. Please use your team name as a reference-meal E.g GBU-Meal.

AGM

This seasons AGM will take place at Spencer Sports and Social Club on Tuesday 9th July 7.30pm start.

All team Captains and or Vice Captain is expected to attend the meeting. Only Captains OR Vice Captains will be able to vote.

If neither the Captain nor Vice Captain is able to attend then you MUST INFORM a member of the committee or a £5 penalty will be added to your bill as per the league rules.

If you have any proposals that you would like to put forward for next season, please put it in writing with a proposer and seconder and return to Andy Bainton at 35 Queensway Melksham SN12 7LB, NO LATER than 1st June otherwise they will not be accepted.

As a result of a playoff game, Awdry’s Angels have been promoted to the Premier Division.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mens Section

The only disappointing thing for me this season was that in the end there were 4 games not played. I appreciate the Captains of the teams tried to get these games in before Rule 17 had to be applied below.

  1. All league games should be played by the last league fixture date of the season where possible or within two weeks. Teams failing to comply with this will forfeit the game(s) except in exceptional circumstances.

I’m told this is the MOST outstanding games we have ever had which is extremely disappointing considering we voted the 21 day rule in last season.
